For the ever-curious mind of a Little Em’s child, water is an element that never ceases to amaze. Our Aqua Lab is not only a swimming pool, but it allows our children gathering spaces to play, explore, and experiment with humanity’s greatest source of life and survival.
In Building 2, children are invited to explore at the scale of the terrestrial world. A giant sculpture at the center of the room resembles a butterfly cocoon, and serves as a place for quiet reflection and conversation, while the Da Vinci Wonder Lab is designed as a small greenhouse with the ability to carry out biological experiments and project work.
At Little Em’s, the outdoors are just as important as the indoors. That’s why we designed the Dreamscape, an outdoor play space featuring a giant sailing ship that provides children with boundless opportunities to run, climb, slide and explore. And it’s why we provided additional zones for quiet reflection and community gathering
In Building 3, children get to explore the science of sound. An acoustic dome anchors the learning space here, one that is designed for gathering, storytelling, and sparking questions that connect the physics of space to the formation of sound waves.
In Building 5, children explore the beauty and mystery of light. The Refraction Garden Wonder Lab anchors this space, providing a magical backdrop for everything from storytelling and group work to exploring the physical qualities of light and color.
With its own Little Olympic Track & Field, children of Little Em’s can begin embarking on their curiosity of the sports through an enriched program covering many different types of activities. From basketball to football, lets allow the children to discover their inner-Olympic spirit!
Wrapped seamlessly around our ever-green mango tree, The Observation Deck, with its altitude, allows our children to ‘live’ and ‘breathe’ amongst the trees. It also serves as an observatory deck, overseeing the other spaces such as The Botanical Gardens, to the Sensory PlayGarden … giving the children a wide range of different perspectives to engage their senses.
The Sensory PlayGarden, with its own vegetable patch and an oasis of herbs & spices, is a space where all our children’s senses will be activated as they cultivate and understand the cycle of life from their plantations, from seed to bloom.
In Building 1, children are invited to explore at the scale of the celestial world. In the Cosmos Wonder Lab, they can learn about the constellations. In the Holodeck Wonder Lab, they can access virtual reality technology. And because Building 1 is also the welcoming building for Little Em’s, they can experience the Event Horizon Wonder Lab as a place for community gatherings and performing arts.
