Mid autumn

The first provocation: A Lion Dance video.
We watched many lion-dance competitions. They dance to the happy beat of a traditional drum set. The atmosphere at the competition is festive! The Mid-autumn festival is just around the corner!

We are also the Lion dancers. We have the “drum set”, and ông Địa (the Earth God) too!

The following day was a Families Meet & Share day. Khải was very interested in the video from yesterday and excited to be the Lion. We asked parents to bring the Lions costumes to the class, and recreated the Dance again. This time, we were happy to have Khải-An’s & Kiến-An’s Dad and Khải’s Mom to JOIN the dance!

Last week was fun with the Lion Dance! But... because one of our good friends was a bit scared of the mighty lion; the whole class decided to make Moon cakes instead. Moon cakes are our mutual love!

So how do we make Moon cakes? First, we measure all the prepared ingredients. That would be flour, cooking oil, salt, warn water. Then we make the dough, using our hands to mix, stir, kneel, and mound! Lastly, we dry the cakes out.

Khải’s Mom is our new Lion dance’s member.
