WHY LITTLE EM’S

WHY LITTLE EM’S?

At Little Em’s, we introduce the Reggio Emilia Approach© to parents which focuses on a child-led project approach. Reggio Emilia Approach© emphasises creativity and artistic representation as well as fostering the children’s intellectual development through encouraging young children to explore their environment and express themselves through all of their available expressive, communicative and cognitive languages.

  • “Learning through play” environment – Play is vital for the development of the brain and helps to build children’s communication skills, to understand their place in the world and to explore their feelings. We will then create a “learning-through-play” environment for children where the child’s learning will be observed, recorded and documented by teachers.Furthermore, play also builds self-worth and resilience. In fact, play is such a crucial element of a child’s life that it’s been enshrined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Article 31 states that every child should have…the right to rest and leisure, to engage in play and recreational activities appropriate to the age of the child and to participate freely in cultural life and the arts. – quoted from https://nidoearlyschool.com.au/news/post?s=2018-02-10-the-importance-of-learning-through-play-for-children
  • We are the first official Reggio Emilia Approach© Preschool in Vietnam, providing early childhood education for Vietnamese children aged 2 to 6 years old. The launch of Little Em’s is the first step in the creation of an educational continuum through the Embassy Education Group, leading from preschool through high school and beyond for Vietnam’s future ambassadors.
  • A global mindset in a local setting – At Little Em’s, we value the philosophy of “180 East – 180 West”. We are passionate in providing an international education environment and give children access to world, but locally rooted in their Vietnamese culture.

Environmental-friendly and world-class facilities – The environment is very essential in the Reggio Emilia Approach©, which is seen as “the third teacher”.

For the ever-curious mind of a Little Em’s child, water is an element that never ceases to amaze. Our Aqua Lab is not only a swimming pool, but it allows our children gathering spaces to play, explore, and experiment with humanity’s greatest source of life and survival.
In Building 2, children are invited to explore at the scale of the terrestrial world. A giant sculpture at the center of the room resembles a butterfly cocoon, and serves as a place for quiet reflection and conversation, while the Da Vinci Wonder Lab is designed as a small greenhouse with the ability to carry out biological experiments and project work.
At Little Em’s, the outdoors are just as important as the indoors. That’s why we designed the Dreamscape, an outdoor play space featuring a giant sailing ship that provides children with boundless opportunities to run, climb, slide and explore. And it’s why we provided additional zones for quiet reflection and community gathering
In Building 3, children get to explore the science of sound. An acoustic dome anchors the learning space here, one that is designed for gathering, storytelling, and sparking questions that connect the physics of space to the formation of sound waves.
In Building 5, children explore the beauty and mystery of light. The Refraction Garden Wonder Lab anchors this space, providing a magical backdrop for everything from storytelling and group work to exploring the physical qualities of light and color.
With its own Little Olympic Track & Field, children of Little Em’s can begin embarking on their curiosity of the sports through an enriched program covering many different types of activities. From basketball to football, lets allow the children to discover their inner-Olympic spirit!
Wrapped seamlessly around our ever-green mango tree, The Observation Deck, with its altitude, allows our children to ‘live’ and ‘breathe’ amongst the trees. It also serves as an observatory deck, overseeing the other spaces such as The Botanical Gardens, to the Sensory PlayGarden … giving the children a wide range of different perspectives to engage their senses.
The Sensory PlayGarden, with its own vegetable patch and an oasis of herbs & spices, is a space where all our children’s senses will be activated as they cultivate and understand the cycle of life from their plantations, from seed to bloom.
In Building 1, children are invited to explore at the scale of the celestial world. In the Cosmos Wonder Lab, they can learn about the constellations. In the Holodeck Wonder Lab, they can access virtual reality technology. And because Building 1 is also the welcoming building for Little Em’s, they can experience the Event Horizon Wonder Lab as a place for community gatherings and performing arts.
